How can I open ".gdoc" files?
While Google Docs are technically web files, Google now allows you to "attach" and sometimes upload files from your Google Drive to email or other web services. Attached .gdoc files need to be downloadaed like other attachments, and will not open automatically in your browser.
.gdoc files will only open properly in Chrome, so Chrome needs to be set as your default browser in order for the computer to open them properly:
1) Open Chrome settings (three lines in the upper right corner)
2) Scroll down to find Default Browser underneath Users
3) Set Chrome to Default
